MISSION STATEMENT
Queeruption 2001 is a forum for queers and friends of all sexualities and genders to come together from within the
San Francisco/Bay Area and the national and international communities to collaborate, communicate, network, explore, create, learn and enjoy.
Our focus is to teach what we've learned (and are learning) in an open,
round-table type way by sharing a
variety of information, skills, art and entertainment.
This is an opportunity to push boundaries, and build solidarity and coalitions out of a diversity of communities and
cultures, and to focus on a multitude of issues to work for a better future.
PRESS RELEASE
Queeruption is a 5-day gathering of queers from around the world, coming
together in San Francisco and the East Bay to share ideas and strategies
about activism, social change, survival--and how to have a good time in
the process. Queers from a variety of places will arrive to join with local
participants in Queeruption, with activities including roundtable forums,
performances, open mikes, music, screenings, and actions in the San
Francisco Bay Area over the long weekend of Thursday October 4th through
Monday October 8th, 2001.
