Hello Everyone!!    
    
Only a bit more than 2 months to go until queeruption
here in barcelona, and as you can probably imagine,
the organising collective is busy trying to get
everything sorted. The other day some of us sat down
and made a list of everything we could think of that
needed to be organised in order to make this week as
successful as possible. Below is a list of all the
main topics that we thought of, so please, if you see
anything that you think is missing from this list, let
us know:    
      
VENUE!!!!! (accessability, showers, toilets,
electricity, venue infastructure, etc.)    
kitchen    
translation    
meeting facilitation    
workshops    
parties/entertainments/sound system/music    
political actions    
legal team    
conflict reaction/resolution    
propaganda/posters

information about barcelona and public services
information point/security team    
zine    
bar    
first aid

While we here in barcelona are prepared and excited to
take on many of the items on this list, we also
realize the practical impossibility of being able to
handle everything on our own. So we would like to ask
for help from all you lovely queers out there whose
amazing skills  we have seen at work in london,
berlin, amsterdam, and beyond...    
      
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU::    
      
Translation    
      
We are very interested for a translation collective to
form. We want this collective to be a group of people
who not only want to organise individual translators
for queeruption, but who also want to start a dialogue
about language and translation BEFORE queeruption-- a
dialogue about how to make every meeting, workshop,
and event as linguistically    
accessible as possible, how to use our language
differences to inspire and teach each other instead of
to exclude each other, and how to avoid the dominance
of only one language in our diverse space.    
      
Anyone who is interested in forming a translation
collective can contact us on

you all in email contact with each other. This
discussion has a huge impact on how well queeruption
in barcelona will function, so please get involved!  
 
    
Meeting Facilitation    
      
Along with a translation group, we also see the need
for a meeting facilitation collective to form before
queeruption to discuss the tricky issues of how to
structure meetings and meeting facilitation. Again,
anyone who is interested can contact us on
queeruption8karcelona@yahoo.es and we will put you all
in email contact with each other.
      
Conflict Reaction/Resolution    
      
Another group that needs to form before queeruption is
a conflict reaction/resolution collective. There are
members of our organising group here in barna who are
interested in making this group happen. If you are
interested in being part of this group, you can
contact them by sending an email titled CONFLICT
REACTION/RESOLUTION  to our email address.    

Other Collectives    
      
Two more collectives that need to form-- The very
important FIRST AID  group and a KIDS group (if there
is a need?)..... If  you have skills, knowledge, or
materials that you want to share in either of  these
two areas, get in touch!!    

Entertainments/Performance/Cinema    
      
We've formed our own internal entertainments
collective to organise things like a stage, sound
system, microphones, mixers, etc. etc., but we need
YOU to come and use it all. If you want to perform
kabaret, scream down the mic with your punk band, lead
a giant salsa dancing class or dazzle us with your
djing skills, get in contact with the entertainments
group on their email:  q8cineperfo@lazyav.org and tell
them when you can perform and what technical material
you need.    
    
Workshops    
      
If you have a skill you want to share, a topic that
keeps you awake at night that you want to discuss, a
rant you need to have, information you want the whole
world to know about-- now is your chance!! We need as
many people as possible to come to barcelona prepared
to give workshops. You don't have to have a degree in
anything, hell, you dont even have to know how to do
it that well, a passionate need to share something,
anything, with the rest of us will do just fine. Queer
rollerskating, breakdancing, sex toy making, primal
screaming, yoga, wrestling, language classes, sewing,
knitting, woodworking, discussions on everything from
how to fight the G8 to how to play with genders, from
sex work to sexual agressions, from the reclamation of
oppressed identities to post-identity theories...    
And when you've thought of the perfect thing that you
want to present, drop us a line on our email and let
us know: #1 what you want to do and #2 if you'll need
any special stuff to do it.

Posters/Propaganda    
      
We need people who are willing to distribute
queeruption 8 posters and information in their local
areas. We can either send you the posters ourselves
(when you tell us how many you need), or, if you can,
you will soon be able to download the poster graffics
from our webpage and print them yourself. Also, if
anyone is interested in doing an info night or
presentation in your local area, we would love you
forever!!!!!    

Legal Info    
      
We're organising a legal group here in barcelona who
are currently hard at work compiling a text about your
legal rights here in barcelona. We expect to have this
info on the web page within the next month. Please
practise safe queerupting and read this info BEFORE
you come!!  
      
Money    
      
We've organised 2 benefit parties in Barcelona and
gathered almost 1000 euros, but we need more to
organise Q8 proprely. The organising group in
Barcelona is now focused on organising Q8 and so can't
organise many more benefit parties. So, if you can do
a benefit night in your town or get some nice, rich,
queer group that you know of to donate us their entire
fortune, please do it!! Our account info is:

People    
    
The main thing that the barcelona group is working on
at the moment is trying to get our venue space sorted
out. As soon as we have a space, we will let everyone
know so that anyone who wants to come to barcelona
early and help us can do so. We are hoping that we
will have a space sorted out in the next month so that
we can invite as many people as possible to come early
and eat, drink, work, live, and stress out with us in
the weeks and months leading up to Q8.
